Arches National Park Landscapes

Yes, I'm still here. Have just been very busy with visitors staying and also working on lots of wedding photos.

Anyhow, I thought I'd have some fun tonight and revisit the photos I took at Arches National Park in Utah which I took in May of last year.

I played around a bit with the photos and found something I really like. The rocks in the park, as in much of the deserts of Arizona and Utah, are pretty red. I desaturated all the colors in these photos, but left more of the reds in place. It really highlights the shape of the rocks and turns the sky and clouds to silver, providing a great background for the rocks. I hope you like the effect.

Happy Couple Portrait

My friends Teresa and Carin will be getting married later this month. Last weekend a group of us celebrated with a bachelorette party for the happy couple where I snapped a few photos including this candid portrait of them both.

Old Petrol Pump License Up For Auction for NZ Green Party Candidate

I recently licensed my photo of an old petrol pump up the Wanganui River Road in my home town in New Zealand to Green Party 2008 candidate David Hay. The license is for email and website campaign advertising.

David and the Green Party are interested in also licensing the photo for print advertising campaigns and in a novel idea proposed by David the license fee is up for auction on New Zealand's auction website TradeMe, which is similar to eBay.
